I believe the natural predator would be the tiger, though leopards work too. Just release a few.

On Cape Cod the problem is feeding gulls. Not just an environmental issue but the bread scraps usually tossed are bad for the gulls.

Some years back I was woken daily by the screeching of peacocks.Thankfully, one of the neighbours got in touch with a farm that already had a colony and they were removed.

Maybe against the turkeys. But against Canada geese? Dude. We learned the game from them.

I think that a Canada goose is the only creature that can poop its body weight daily...

Peacocks are edible, as are geese and turkey. Just spread the word in the right circles.

Boy Howdy. And the reeking slippery mess they leave behind is a hazard to all local boaters. I can't tell you how many times I've seen folks carrying a load of gear down a bank or ramp where the geese are thick.,, can't see where they are going... step into a pile... and zoom, they are down. Usually into some of the odiferous mess. Nobody wants to go boating with them after that. Otter poop is worse, but not nearly so common.

And regarding the peafowl... BOY are they loud!! Lived in a quiet little farmhouse in the country in S. Oregon for a while. Nearest neighbor was 1/2 mile away. They kept peafowl. It was pretty bad. When the birds decided to get neighborly and come to my house to greet the morning... I moved.

I'm lucky there's only 10 or 20 mallard living at this place. Not much crap and very little noise.

The bloody kiwi though, it's the shower knife scene theme from Psycho every night.

If you feed them, you might not eliminate them, but you may increase the population. Brood size and food supply are linked.

We have turkeys wondering through the yard often. I'd love to have a few peafowls as well.

Well I soon won't have to worry about feeding the ducks here. Fox dug its way in on Wednesday night and killed three, leaving me with three. Then found a new place to dig its way in last night, killed one and mauled another, so two left. We have three little dogs with access to the entire yard at night. If it wasn't for them I'd set a bunch of traps and the fox problem would be taken care of. The dry grass in the paddocks is waist high and this is a cunning old fox that won't look directly at a light- they actually learn that their eyes can be seen in a torch beam, so getting a shot is proving difficult. I'll win, but I might run out of ducks first. JayInOz
