    Default Prop Pullin

I was hoping to pull my prop over the weekend and stopped by my local Chandlery to use their prop puller that I have used before. They apparently no longer do this. Was thinking about using a large gear puller but concerned about damaging prop. It's been 10 years since last removal, 1-3/4" shaft. Anyone in the Seattle/Everett area know where I can rent one?

Pretty sure most yards will rent you one.

I had the same problem, but a boat builder friend (a professional) used a bronze drift and a hammer and it popped off with a couple of taps on the back of the hub.

I have several prop pullers, but live near Anacortes. You are welcome to borrow them.

Thanks all, I got some bad info from a new employee, our local shop still rents a puller.

We made a custom one from a car rim, bits of square tubes, and three threaded rods. It lives aboard so I'm ready to work on the shaft wherever the boat is, if needed.
The shaft is 50mm so the prop needs to be heated to ease the removal.
