    Default The Boat Shop

    From an entertaining blog:

    https://churbuck.com/the-shop/
“Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of those rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs."

Wonderful. This was the best thing I’ve read in awhile.

The reference to Velveeta Cheese boxes reminded me of my grandfathers shop that had an entire cabinet built around drawers made of wooden Borden's Cream Cheese boxes. I can smell the turps and the oil furnace now.......

Great story. Thanks. Recently I've been trying to find plans for building a Cotuit skiff for my daughter and her friends but to no avail so far. Anybody know where to find them? Thanks

I built one from the sketchy plans at either the Cotuit Historical Society or town library, I don't recall. David Churbuck (who wrote the blog entry above) may be the best current source or one who can suggest how to find them. Other sources could be Art Paine (see WB issue 195) or Ned Crosby who has one for sale currently: https://www.emcrosbyboatworks.com/ne...ats-cape-cod/# A skiff would be a fun one to sail in Charleston among the creeks. We lived there for some years on James Island creeks and enjoyed it. Good luck.
