    They don’t teach cursive in school anymore because people don’t write longhand anymore.

    Yes, yes.

    Time was, longhand was business writing. It was official.

    Now, typing is official. Documents aren’t written in longhand. Nothing is, anymore.

    That’s why no longhand in school. It’s no great conspiracy.

    Never heard the word “cursive” till later in life. It was longhand. (Which was not the opposite of shorthand BTW.)

    Possibly easy for some, but not for all. Just as I could only passably throw a baseball or perform the high jump, I must limit my "high wire" acts to those not so high. Otherwise a severe onset of vertigo takes over. It's not a failing, just a fact of life. I can write in cursive.
