In the Redwood forest, just about dead center on this pic
I love what you've done with the place.

    Astoria, Oregon.

Where the Mighty Columbia meets the Blue Pacific. I don't live there now, but it's my hometown. Lots of family still there. This one taken from a friend's deck --

Not great but I wanted to support Spinner, plus there was beer involved so some here will appreciate it a bit more.

We went for a picnic. Looking SW down thru Saanich Inlet. Those are the Olympics in the background.

    Zoomed.

A tiny fire, a beer and some all beef smokies, which as you can see I like raw just as much as cooked. Not having had a beer for quite a while I appreciated it more than I would have otherwise but it was quite good in fact.

Looks nice there, Gib. I regret that I couldn't arrange to visit you there last year. Next time, Covid permitting.

Here's a shot of my front yard. That's a friend in his Bullseye (fiberglass H12). My house is in the trees just above his foredeck.

The bridge just down the road, bits of which go back several hundred years.

The lake at the university a little way upstream.

Or if you go downstream about sixteen miles, this is where the river Waveney meets the Yare just a few hundred yards from a Roman fort.

One of our favorite sailing spots - Timothy Lake, at the headwaters of the Clackamas River. Nestled, as you can see, just south of Mt. Hood --

Lyttelton harbor today, 20 minutes from home - a perfect autumn day. Way off in the distance you can see the Pacific Ocean. Nothing after that but a lot of water, until you bump into South America.

I used to live here on Lake of the Woods. Now it is the cottage for summer use.
Winnipeg, where I now live is about 175 miles west.

We have rivers through the city but our boating is done out at the lake for the most part.

Sure was nice weather Ron. I don't go near the launch ramp on a sunny weekend....they attract all sort of Trumpersimeanyahoos.

    shop 3.jpgtower.jpg

Today I live in a rather mundane place. I grew up, however, with quite the machine shop in the basement and a tall tower Dad had used for a radio antenna. My parents paved most of the yard, making for a very large driveway, of which I cannot find a photo, but we could easily park 6 or 7 cars, all having access to the street.

It was a corner house, with two aprons on Glenwood road and one apron on Valley road, all connected. Little lawn. Big 'driveway'
Now he's gone. If only he'd be forgotten.
