    White privilege can be easily understood in the all to common experience termed "walking while black". Some people get arrested for that. Some don't. If you don't understand that, you are not equipped to understand 'white privilege' and probably are privileged in that way.

    I am sure that you worked hard to ensure your kids had the merit necessary to go to college and get a good job. There is nothing wrong with that.
    Merit is earned by the individual - regardless of the color of that individual's skin or their ethnicity. You can't take away an individual's accomplishments or skills.

    However, Racism is where that merit isn't recognized because of the color of someone's skin or ethnicity.

    So, I will repeat my question - what does the color of an individual's skin or their ethnicity have to do with merit?
