    This year we got up to our place up north a bit too late for good color, but I got this one a couple of years ago. The original intent was to get some shots of my '72 Old Town Guide while wearing the red plaid Maine Guide shirt, etc. for a proper woodsman look. The only problem was that despite the colors being great that day, the temperature was about 85 degrees, so it was shorts and a polo.

    Got out on the Hudson River today. Still lots of paddling possible this year. Unlike sailing, it keeps you warm. View here south to the George Washington Bridge.

    Seventy degrees in Madison, WI yesterday, and just barely enough breeze to ghost along all afternoon. It's an absolute delight to cruise slowly along on a placid lake without wind or powerboat wake to slap through.
