OK - it's for specialized row crops - but what? Vineyards?

I was thinking that was a Mexican Lowrider tractor, captured at the moment that the air shocks were at full pop.

Those things just tear it up on hot summer nights down in the valley.

a strange specialty. not sure i understand it.

why not a tow boat, and then a winch from land?

Coastguard here are a volunteer based rescue service, the long legged tractor is a way of promptly launching and retrieving in most weather. That beach faces East. Predominant wind and swell directions are SW v NE. It can be a surf beach in an NE or E.
They're building a new specialised vehicle to do the same now but that JD has been in service for a decade approx.

The Atlanta airport has one like this with a brush hog mounted on the boom for mowing steep banks. They can also raise wheels on one side and lower wheels on other side for going horizontally on such slopes.

Just for fun I tried some of that semi truck and trailer backing. Didn't work out so well.

I like your trailer parade, but also would not want to back it.

Yes, it's a Packard museum open to the public. They seem to have extended their brief somewhat.

Thanks Jimmy. Yes Packard kind of lost their way later on. I wouldn't have liked that model in the past but there is an appeal for me now.
One from within a year or three I expect. I could do that.
