We all do it. There was a great cartoon in WBM many years ago on the curing time of glue. The gist of it was it's just long enough to prevent you from fixing a stuff up. It showed a catamaran being built and one hull had been attached upside down.

Unboxing, inscribing, bagging up and posting off books. Busy busy busy. If you've PM'd me expect a PM shortly to confirm delivery details. If not I am happy to hear from you. (If you have no idea what I'm talking about PM me and I'll email you offline and tell you. The 'no self promotion' rule here is a good one and i dare not bend it any further.

Specialisation in medicine is a ticket to the gold mine. Very few of them bulk bill and you will find high concentrations of them in high retirement areas...such as Tweed Heads / Coolangatta. Kerry has forked out enough for her cataract op to return the sight to an entire village in Tibet. To get my deviated Septum fixed will cost $3,000 for a 20 minute op and only a few hundred back via Medicare. Needless to say it ain't gunna happen anytime soon.

Of course I could go into a local pub, pick a fight get my nose broken and get it done for nothing..assuming I don't get killed first.

Oh heaps!!! Did I tell you about the young apprentice in the shed next door who got a Christmas present of prawn heads buried behind the door panel of the EH that he'd been lovingly restoring?

    Yeah, they get heaps alright???

I got an early morning call today to see if I'd come help move a river cruiser across the Murray at Mannum. A millisecond later I was out the door. I'd not seen this boat before but I'd heard lots and i was keen to see what it was like.

About 35 foot long, Oregon and Gum planks on ?? with a 40 HP Ford diesel

Both very worthy efforts and well told.

Jack De Crow, a mighty mirror dinghy. is a boat of legend.

The 'man on the river' story is quite interesting too. I think the boat is a Ness Yawl IIRC. Some nice videos on youtube. Search for manontheriver

Ian, why the different sized props? what type of gearboxes do you have?

I quite like the look of Teal, looks like an old ferry. Lots of potential, and lots of work but at least it's still afloat.

a real can of worms probably.

Grantulla sounds like she's telling you something Ian. Something expensive.

My sister has two boats somewhere in the marina on the island opposite Goolwa. Both wood. Haven't heard from her for some time, her domestic arrangements can be................. erratic.

Gary , Peter Wade who runs one of the real estate shops in town has 2 boats like that, one with steam power . I think he's chasing and engine and boiler for the other one too, both nicely done up.
