Forums not rendering correctly in Firefox
Has anyone had issues with the forum not rendering or formatting correctly in Firefox? It seems to work just fine in other browsers.Tags: None -
Re: Forums not rendering correctly in Firefox
Yes. It only renders correctly in Chrome on my iPad and iPhone, except for embedded videos, which don’t show at all. On all other browsers, desktop and mobile, it looks like this:

Re: Forums not rendering correctly in Firefox
^ it looks like that in Samsung Internet on the Android tablet too.
I deleted the shortcut , logged out, created a new shortcut and its right for now, but won't allow me to quote/ post. Ordinary post is fine.Comment

Re: Forums not rendering correctly in Firefox
I'm on Firefox & it's fine. I have seen that happen when the forum gets bogged down - but refreshing the page usually fixes it after a try or 3.
I think the real issue is an old, overworked server along with an old version of vBulletin (the software that the forum runs on)."If it ain't broke, you're not trying." - Red GreenComment

I have that problem on Opera occasionally and logging out and back in again has always fixed it.Comment

Working well for me and Firefox has been my browser of choice since version 2 and its currently version 93.Comment

Re: Forums not rendering correctly in Firefox
Refreshing never did anything for me. But logging in and out has worked on all browsers, thanks John. Still can’t see embedded videos, though, on any browser, which suggests the problem probably is me.Comment

Re: Forums not rendering correctly in Firefox
I get the same thing. Initially, I could get the normal view half the time (on alternate pages), if I played with the controls, but now it is always in the "ugly" mode in Firefox, and no embedded videos. Other Vbulletin forums are as bad or worse. The SeaMonkey browser seems to do the job for the forum sites, but I don't much like it for anything else.Comment

Re: Forums not rendering correctly in Firefox
The issue is in ssl connection, I have reported this to admins a while ago without any response. The forum is wrongly rendered if you use https://forum.woodenboat.com, just try http://forum.woodenboat.com. They have somehow badly configured the ssl cert and web server configuration.
Actually this is the only one really populated forum about wooden boats, but its engine and setup is just .... It would need serious refresh. Than features like RSS and all the new messages through email, etc.Comment

Re: Forums not rendering correctly in Firefox
This may be a plugin or browser settings. I have no issue visitting http version on mobile Firefox or desktop Firefox (ESR 78). But this is probably the only site I access wihout encryption (in time of certbot and lets'encrypt it is a shame).Comment

Re: Forums not rendering correctly in Firefox
I, too, have this rendering problem, and use Firefox. I find it so dysfunctional that the forum is barely on my radar these days, which is a bummer.Boat plans and kits:
