          Pat Robertson dies. . .

. . . the PGA and LIV golf merge.

          Mmmm, coincidence?

I think not, I think the Devil is having a hell of a week. First he calls one of his minions home, and well. . .

          the golf thing is self-explanatory.

Other than the bit about killing their children, that sounds pretty good to me (with the added corrections). I do have some questions, though:

            1. Do they have to wait until capitalism is destroyed before they can become lesbians, or can they tackle each step concurrently, or in order of personal priority? Specifically, I'm concerned that the lack of an Oxford comma before "and become lesbians" implies that they must simultaneously become lesbians and destroy capitalism. That seems like a tall order, and I worry we may be setting the bar too high to get a large enough pool of applicants to be sure of getting quality feminists.

Do feminists have to kill their own children, or can they qualify by killing a neighbor's children, say, or just nieces and nephews? If we are truly committed to a "big tent" approach to feminism, I think it will be important to provide opportunities for childless women to participate fully.

Have we thought carefully enough about intersectionality of aims here? For example, is confirmation of killing children appropriate evidence of progress in destroying capitalism? There will (arguably) be less toys, clothing, and sugary breakfast cereals sold if enough children are killed, which could disrupt the market system. How will we arrange for dual credit in both categories?

Does being a Wiccan count as "practicing witchcraft" or do they have to engage in specifically Satanic practices? And if infant sacrifice is part of those practices, does that (again) also earn them credit in the "killing children" category?

              Re: Pat Robertson croaks

I got a sorta personal beef with him. Without being flippant about it, I couldn't wish hell in eternity for anyone, even though I don't actually believe in it. But rhetorically, he can burn for his career of influencing people and their lives and big life choices and decisions based on his notion of rendering unto Ceasar while putting Mammon's cut in an off-shore numbered account. He started doing his TV schitck, near as I recall, in the late seventies, a couple of years before I got out of the USAF and spent a while staying at my folks house with my two little brothers, who were still in high school. I was already getting over my own dalliance with the popular born-again business. I may have somehow influenced them to watch his show during the afternoon while they were on summer vacation from school, and getting stoned, being in the band. The Seven Hundred Club used to play in the downstairs family room. Fast forward, my youngest brother estranged himself and his wife and five kids from our family, the rift being due to Steven's born-again judgement that Mom was going to hell for not signing up with Jesus. He moved to Texas in the early nineties, graduated from the bible college somewhere in the Dallas area, took up being a pastor of a local congregation. And I haven't seen him nor anyone in his family since they moved. My Wife sorta monitors via facebook so we know he's not dead—but he's divorced and estranged from his own kids, and has a felony assault on his record for losing it one day at home with his then teenage son and brandishing an axe in the event. No one got hurt, but the bedroom door took a beating. TMI, right?

Now I'm in enough of a mood to join in the chorus of Pat Robertson haters hating; the bastard, let him swim in the Devil's lava until the universe cools.

If I believed in any of that nonsense, I'd be celebrating that the fecker is toasty warm right now.

I'm in total agreement on this Jim, though I think the place you might want him to swim is in the "Devil's Santorum*".

There is no rational, logical, or physical description of how free will could exist. It therefore makes no sense to praise or condemn anyone on the grounds they are a free willed self that made one choice but could have chosen something else. There is no evidence that such a situation is possible in our Universe. Demonstrate otherwise and I will be thrilled.

Comments about the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine[edit]
On February 28, 2022, Robertson sparked controversy after saying that Russian President Vladimir Putin was "compelled by God" to invade Ukraine to fulfill the "end times prophecy" in Israel. His claims have been described as having a "lack of evidence" to support them.[132]
