    Shall not be infringed bit*hs!

Reminds me of last years senseless shooting in my neighborhood.

I wonder how many of our very own sub culture of the WBF have been affected by gun violence.

Not my neighbourhood, but the closest yet..

A high school friend dropped a gun and it put a bullet through his eye and killed him.

March '93, one of the workers at the Montclair Post Office got a gun, robbed substation, and put two bullets in each of 5 heads. The two clerks he killed were also friends of mine.

I've never experienced it personally anywhere. And not in my neighborhood.

Some years ago , the Tacoma police cheif shot his wife and then shot himself in our Safeway parking lot. Two kids in the backseat.
Last year, my JW neighbor evicted some squatters from his spare house with his shotgun in hand...no shots fired.
Another neighbor shot hisself bout 5 years ago...no family or friends so eventually his 17 cats ate him.
Oh, an armed robbery of a neib who kept his guns in a locked gunsafe. Same dudes has burgled the house before and could not get to the guns so they came back when he was home. Tied him up with phone cord. Dudes screwed up somewhere along the line and tried to evade the cops by SWIMMING away into Gig Harbor...he washed up near Olalla a few weeks later. Catfish ate him.
          other than that...not so much.

As opposed to sensible gun violence? Maine a small town (~1.5 million) spread over a lot of woods. We’ve had several instances so far this year.

Only in the drugsscene, the Lords and Queens are usually residing in the Amsterdam area , the distance between them and me is sufficient.

Had a guy fire a round at a motorcycle who pissed him off in our Safeway parking lot this spring. Luckily he missed both the biker and the cars on the highway behind him. This was 500' from the high school.

Had an armed robbery with shots fired about ~25 yards from me probably three years ago. Market Street in Ballard. I was sitting outside Bauhaus coffee shop talking to someone when I heard pop-pop-glass-breaking-tires-squeeling-lots-of-screams. I honestly thought it was a construction accident by the sound of the glass breaking and the increasing screams, but nope, just regular old everyday gun violence in America. No one was shot. I later read that someone robbed a nail salon and then fired a couple warning shots at the ground when the victims fought back. At least once bullet ricocheted into the store window. Robbers fled in an SUV. Whole thing was just seconds long.

Heard of a van that's loaded with weapons
Packed up and ready to go
Heard of some gravesites, out by the highway
                      A place where nobody knows

The sound of gunfire, off in the distance
I'm getting used to it now
Lived in a brownstone, lived in a ghetto

No time for dancing, or lovey-dovey

In the 46 years I have lived in this town, I recall only one shooting; a local businessman and town resident shot and killed his former partner over a financial dispute. My older daughter was friendly with the shooters daughter. This happened perhaps 25 years ago. Since then, nothing. I am grateful to live in a community with exceptionally low levels of crime of any kind.

The myth is more comfortable than the often difficult search for truth."

Across the street about 4 or 6 years ago. Believed to be a drug deal gone bad.

Several years ago in Seal Beach, Ca. I was a couple hundred yards from a mass shooting that happened about 20 minutes after I left. 1 degree of separation with a couple of victims.

Newtown, CT (not directly my neighborhood but every place is close in CT)
I worked, briefly, with one of the parents who lost a child there so Newtown is pretty personal even though I don't have a child that attends there (and there are many other co-works that live there).

The local mall has regular "gun" events of one type or another.
