Practicing an art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow, for heaven’s sake. Sing in the shower. Dance to the radio. Tell stories. Write a poem to a friend, even a lousy poem. Do it as well as you possibly can. You will get an enormous reward. You will have created something.
“Come, come, my conservative friend, wipe the dew off your spectacles and see the world is moving" - Elizabeth Cady Stanton

Worth remembering, as is much of Vonnegut.

Passage from The Great Gatsby wherein Nick is advised to write because it makes him feel good. When he bemoans his lack of literary skill, he is told: You can always burn it.

      Art for arts sake.

why we like to cook and have dinner parties. Disposable Art you don't have figure out what to do with after you've made it — eat/drink it.

The next dinner, even if it's the exact same menu and guests, will be a different bit of art.
