  • SilentRain

Amish got me interested in Women’s Collegiate Softball last year. I’ve been halfassedly following UW Husky ball this year. They play a World Series elimination game vs Stanford today. This is pure sport, absolutely pure teamwork. Fun to watch.

My two favorite names on the team are SilentRain Espinoza, and (of course) Madison Huskey.

A good friend's daughter played softball in college and they won a national championship. I see that North Georgia University has won the 2023 NCAA Division II National Championship also.

Sports can be wonderful until the wrong people get involved. College football is ruined. Basketball isn't far behind.

Softball played well is more entertaining to me than conventional baseball. There, I said it.

On the subject of collegiate sports, if ya'll don't mind uncle Salty is gonna brag a bit here.
My nephew goes from high school this year to the University of Calgary football team in the fall, he's 6' 2" 290 pounds but very quick he plays O line. And my niece is going from high school in Victoria to a College in New York with a lacrosse scholarship. She's played lacrosse and soccer all her life and has done very well at both, she had a bad knee injury last year but has recovered well and chose to pursue lacrosse full time.

Did I miss it? Did the Huskies already play and are they still alive? Women’ sports; hard to get news of it.

Sorry Ron, Stanford got ‘em 1-0 . Pitching duel. 5 hits total in the game.

Yeah, couple of really good pitchers in that game. Stanford reward is that they get another shot at Oklahoma, who had defeated them earlier. OU is going to be hard to beat. Really deep bench. Jordi bahl is excellent, and it’s fun watching Dash Washington’s pitcher was also from Nebraska. Two of the best in the country, couldn’t keep either one playing for the home team.
There's a lot of things they didn't tell me when I signed on with this outfit....

Found a highlights reel of the UW/Stanford game. Amazing athletes, wish I would have followed it more. Disappointing though.

From what I understand, Stamford plays OK in a doubleheader and they have to win both games to continue on. That’s gonna be tough.
