I wonder how you get on the boat if you park with the door facing away from the dock. Keeps the Jehovah's Witnesses away for sure, but it'd be nice to step outside occasionally without needing to swim.

I imagine these float homes are used for weekends and summers. As security measure, one might turn the house around when not on site.

I have much the same photo from 8+ years ago, though many cranes in your photo. There are lots of liveaboards on the Gota Canal, its pretty harsh when the water is frozen and -25. There had been an effort to get rid of or move on some of the older wooden boats, as is usual these days, some people paying very high prices for waterview properties, do not want to be staring at old varnish boats, especially Bohusland Varnish.
