In general, women seem to have more common sense. I believe we have had an occasional female participant, troll like features, but they seem to be outliers.
I am more inclined to blame/credit the politics of the moment, relative to the tenor of the bilge. During the four years of he who will not be mentioned, every day, the news was filled with one, outrage, after another. It sets the tone. And… I would say, appropriately.

The time difference can be a PITA. One often arrives midstream in conversations where the constructive bit is over and the mud slinging has started.
I'm a grown up, I can deal with it.

For sure Ms. Drift and elf have been a good influence.

More 'boat stuff' in the Bilge is not a good thing... unless it's outside the topics covered upstairs (steel boat? fg boats?)

I promise I'll have more time again at some point for additional content regarding the future of our Republic... and the world. I know it's complex, controversial, highly divided along partisan lines (and sometimes even among allies), frustrating, demanding, and not amenable to lazy or shallow thinking... BUT it's only the single most important topic extant.
