We crossed an aqueduct with a 20 or 30 knot beam wind, with the bow cranked to the windward bulkhead and the stern nearly on the leeward, throttle pegged for the whole 4 knots the boat would do.
That was near Stratford though, not as dramatic as the Welsh one.Last edited by John B; 05-30-2023, 06:49 PM. -

It was a fast boat, the drunken horseman broke his head , the helmsman replaced him and Hornblower had to helm the boat which he gladly did to get to London asap. FrankComment
