Incredible it has lasted 990,000 miles. I’ve never heard of such a thing on cars.

clarification, please; is this an alfa? Or an MG? I've not heard of an alfa MGA.
There's a lot of things they didn't tell me when I signed on with this outfit....

and when have you ever heard of either an alfa or an mg making in 990k miles???
Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.

Obviously , when they rolled the odometer back - they went a bit too far

I'm not a Facebooker, but was able to look at the marketplace link and spent some time perusing stuff. Tempted to grab the never used Newport cabin heater, or the Grizzly planer with exotic wood

Says it's a 1600 MkII. Grille and taillights look right. No Idea where he came up with "Alfa" except to put it "alfa"betically first? Mileage...I'd call that a good imagination even the total of the two cars.

                    Re: Meanwhile, on Facebook Marketplace

In his late teens my older brother had a a couple of friends who were twins. They took the body off an MGA then made and mounted a different one out of fiberglass to make it look like one of these Auto-Unions. It was a very ugly job but they had fun with it.

For the most part experience is making the same mistakes over and over again, only with greater confidence.

If somebody actually did put a twin cam Alfa engine and five speed box into an MGA,it could be a great car.I have a feeling this particular example is a project looking for a charitable owner and the mileage has been read with the tenths of a mile included.

The "problem" with FB Marketplace is that you cannot contact the seller unless you have an account. The lady of the house does, so that works for me. In my area, FBM has pulled a lot of business away from Craigs List - which stinks, as the FBM search is terrible & the "miles away limiter" is a joke: if I limit to 40 miles, I get ads from Boston - over 200 as the crow flies.
