A nicely cooked roast dinner with all the trimmings.....
Pork,Lamb, Beef, Pheasant,Duck....it didn't matter.

Now, I like chocolate malts. Shortly, We will be going on vacation for a week. Every evening I will go to the ice cream shop and have one.

But any food with my wife or kids or grandkids is my favorite.

When I was a kid, the best food was that with my parents.

When we were kids if we got a good report card from school (we were all strong students) our folks bought a frozen pizza as a special evening snack. We thought that was the greatest thing in the world.
Favorite breakfast cereal was Cocoa Krispies with a ton of sugar dumped on top. It's a wonder I have any teeth left.
My favs now are basic meat and potatoes which are pretty much off the table (literally) with the stinkin'
diet I'm on.

There was (is ? ) a hot dog place in the North end of Chicago (Pratt and Western Ave ) named 'Fluky's' - the best hot dogs and greasy fries ( in an oil soaked paper bag ) As a teen, I would pick up 7 'double Polish sausage sandwiches' [ 2 grilled Polish sausages / grilled onions / mustard / pickle spears / tomato wedges / celery salt on a vertically-split bun ] and 5 chocolate milk shakes ; and munch my way thru an all-night pre-exam study session. I still seek out good hot dog / sausage vendors

I am not enamoured of hot dog Franks. The meat is ground so fine that it could be anything, mechanically recovered from the butchers waste, and I prefer snorkers fried rather than boiled.

When I was a little kid, about the only thing I would eat was hot dogs.

Now? In the once-in-a-great-while category, I guess it would be really good pizza. Out of stuff I eat regularly, salmon on a cedar plank.

Bangers and mash with onion gravy.
Vegemite and walnut sandwich.
Lamb shanks in the slow cooker with roast spuds and butternut pumpkin.
Just about any icecream....

Mind you I had a nice chicken risotto for dinner tonight
