So many people I know suffer food revulsion based on texture. "Classic Gooshy".
Paul and I seem to have some common ground regarding fried liver. Vile stuff my parents loved.
LeeG makes a point I cannot refute. From 1979 on. Ralph McKee introduced me to a Sub sandwich before I knew such a thing was. We worked for the same manufacturer. A group of guys would pool their money to purchase makings for sandwiches and the fillings for lunch. One of which had to be liverwurst. I became a reluctant believer.
Liverwurst as a seasoning in a multi meat and cheese filled sandwich has a great taste.

Liver, and its best mate kidney, are the short list of gag inducing childhood foods that I refuse to intentionally try as an adult. Every now and then a piece of kidney is encountered in a pie or casserole, and it is unfailingly revolting. It's not the texture, it's the flavor.

O quite like kidney, especially in steak and kidney pie.
I am not a fan of preserved meats and sausage at all. My dad loved black pudding and bread and dripping……. his family was large and not well off……… got the taste early.Comment

Strange that some of my favourites are on someone else's hate lists!
My favourite veggies are beetroot and asparagus.
Favourite soup is Cullen Skink- smoked haddock in milk.
Tastes certainly differ.....Comment

We were threatened with bread and dripping sometimes, but it never happened. Though I had friends who had eaten it.
I used to like Junket.
