  • Can I repair this guitar cord jack?

Or should I take it to a music shop, or should I just toss it and buy a new one?

Can you solder? ( Your history here gives me high confidence that you can.) A new connector is $3-$10. A new cable runs $15----$ stupid.
    Up to you.

Unthread the metal jack to expose the wiring. A new 1/4 mono male phone jack can be bought at any decent audio retailer. Shops that sell electric instruments often stock the part and may even solder it for you.

For the amount of money involved, just replace it.
I'm usually in favour of repairing that which can be repaired, but getting a nice repair on that is not worth the effort.
There is nothing quite as permanent as a good temporary repair.

Not to jack around ... but I think it's more accurate to call that the cable "plug" (1/4"/6.35mm mono) and it plugs into a "jack" or port.
            Just replace it.

When I worked at a guitar shop, I repaired several broken 1/4" phone plugs. One guy stumbled and snapped it off. Another loaded his amp in the van with the cable still plugged in. Etc.

              It ain't rocket science.

You'll spend longer waiting for the soldering iron to warm up than the time taken to replace it with a new plug.

                ...In my experience.

Replace it. Even with silver solder, it'll never be right again.

I agree. I would never trust it and the potential to damage the guitar is too great.

And having the cord fail at a gig is a real PITA...

If that happened with the plug inserted, I'd be taking a long hard look at the socket.
I'd much rather lay in my bunk all freakin day lookin at Youtube videos .

Yeah, but the only thing special about Monster™️ cables is the price.

You may well find that the heat needed to solder it will melt internal isolation material inside it. The eternal problem with soldering guitar plugs / jacks.. always have shortest time in contact with the hot iron for minimal melting possibilities.

Having worked in live performance for nearly 20 years, touring pretty much everything. That there, repaired, is one of the biggest causes of show stoppers ever!

                              Replace it.

It will never be reliable again, it'll drive you nuts.
It's all fun and games until Darth Vader comes.
