10 or so years ago my young son and I placed empty pea pods around the base of a tree in the street as I explained to him the advantages of nitrogen fixing bacteria. We even dug them in!
Well there are signs complete with phone numbers along most city roads encouraging people to dob in those who litter the streets. Sure enough a month later we got a $200 fine in the mail. Meanwhile macdonalds wrappers containers etc are blowing down the road and along the beach car parks everywhere!

I saw red and refused to pay and after a lot of carry on on my behalf was able to get the fine withdrawn. I'd love to find the bastard who dobbed me in!
