Re: What individual rights does GOP support?
The only freedom modern Reps want is to be able to tell others how to live their lives. Note that it's a one-way street & that no one should be able to tell them how to live."If it ain't broke, you're not trying." - Red GreenComment

Re: What individual rights does GOP support?
For a good long time now, Republicans have uniformly supported policies that increase the number and lethality of guns in circulation, and opposed anything at all that would reduce either. This will inevitably result in more children (and adults) getting shot. Whether they care or not, I can't say, but they obviously think access to guns is more important.Last edited by Keith Wilson; 05-24-2023, 09:49 AM."For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations,

Originally posted by Dave WrightWhen I was in high school I would often argue politics with an older adult who was a family friend. He was a conservative and would often say that one of our important "freedoms" was the freedom to fail. An interesting take on an individual "right." I suspect that when some liberals argue for freedom to use various drugs they are unconsciously endorsing the "freedom to fail."

Re: What individual rights does GOP support?
"Pro life" but pro death penalty, anti-gun control, anti-support for children after they are born, anti-health care for all, "because we can't afford it" making us the lone developed nation without it, but paying the highest prices for third rate health care in the developed world. Most of all, anti-taxes, because "mine mine mine". And the strongholds of the GQP are in the misery pockets receiving far more federal support than they pay in already, while the states that pay more than their fair share tend to be nice places that are solidly blue. And the irony is not apparent here?Comment
