Thank you. I have done it with dedication and love. It is one of the reasons I have my boats over the years and taken me on this journey.

I would have loved to host you. I sat next to the skipper of the Matthew Turner at the luncheon, in fact I had help channel thousands due to my fund raising for her construction. I may be able to get you a seat when you do come to visit.

For many years I have offered folks here a chance to sail and race with me in this wonderful event in arguably one of the finest places to sail.

I am very happy a couple of you took me up on it. Nothing is a constant and life is about change. There are a few less boats than before. Even the boat I race this weekend is destined to serve a new direction.

You can see why Gary Mulls lines are so cool and why Sparkman and Stephens went back to many of Gary Mulls drawings he did for them in the early 1960s once this beautiful boat came out and dominated the SORC (including beating the much recognized Windward Passage in the first leg of 1969 SORC) and bested the best in the late 1960s and early 70s Northern California racing scene. And why the demand to build my other boat Pretty Penny was so strong.

Joe, I know you are going to love this weekend. Good, serious fun. Best of beautiful wooden yachts in motion - some only pressed to speed once a year. The prizes are real. the epicurean aspect of this weekend will be exceptional. It is like it's all of our birthdays pressed into a classic wooden boat race weekend. I can't image a full quarter hour without a huge smile or full on laughter. If there is we are doing something wrong or missed, we will get through it in a great chuckle.

The weather forecast is classic late may San Francisco/Alameda

                Hello Ted,

What you've posted certainly seems to prove the old adage about "messing around in boats" !!!

Boy, you have that right. The Golden Rule was anti-nuke, then privately owned, and now anti-nuke again.

Here is the schooner North Wind escorting the GR into Philly.

It is pretty exciting. I am getting super stoked. Bring what you think you will need to be comfortable to sleep on the boat. Ear plugs when Paul finally falls asleep.

The cruise to San Francisco is green - Friday. The red reflects our course which is different than other fleets in the regatta. Count on 12 miles on Friday and 26 on Saturday. We will start and stop in Alameda.

Tide predictions may appear to be slack but with the snowpack and rain these past months - it is a flood until full ebb. Wind should be gusting to 25 in the slot.

do we share the same start and finish lines as the rest of the fleet? same course as last year?
Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.
