Re: Slingshot marksmanship
Good thing for the bad guy that the 14 year old brother wasn't kicking old school and using a Roman-style sling. Figure 60g projectiles at 75 m/s.
Taking my kevlar short sling to a 20g mild steel muscle cuirass using 3 to 5oz stones and 4oz lead bulletsmusic in this video:Surt by DanheimandFlute Sonata ...

Re: Slingshot marksmanship
Jimmy brought up a good one. I love that video.
In the OP that girls brother made some fine hits.
I used to have a Wrist Rocket. Launched a raccoon sideways off a garbage can with a .50 cal lead ball.
I got a forked branch that I saved for such a shooter.Comment

Re: Slingshot marksmanship
I had a black widow wrist mount when I was a kid. I used to fire ball bearings with it and became pretty good.
I played down at a small stream most days splashing about in it and building rock pools and such. I always brought my sling shot and hit leaves high up in trees and old stumps etc. One day I saw a small yellow frog sitting on the bank about 30 feet away just minding it's own business. I aimed and fired, hit it square in the back, instantly dead. I was horrified with myself, and from that day on I understood, once the bullet leaves it's never coming back.Comment
