Re: european pickup truck sensibilities
Isuzu used as a fleet wagon a lot in Sweden.
Of course, having only a 1.9 litre diesel with only 163hp, no self respecting American would be seen dead in anything that can top 33mpg, when their sole existence to living is to consume hydrocarbons and make others rich, generally speaking.Comment

I owned a pick-up truck for my business but did not need that gas-guzzler all the time when retired.
I now have a Jeep Cherokee 4X4 and a utility trailer for the odd times I need to haul something.
Works like a charm.I was born on a wooden boat that I built myself.

This is my current hauler. Twelve years old and 17K miles. It doesn't get used much, gets terrible mileage, rear wheel drive. A compact pickup AWD is in my near future. I might add a small utility trailer.

I love all those little beasties. And I were a suburban or urban homeowner... they'd be peachy. But for a professional that regularly hauls 4X8 sheets of plywood, and long lengths of lumber, often in loads that range from 1/2 to 1 ton... and who camps/sleeps in the back... they'd be nothing more than a cruel tease.David G
