Erdogan, like certain American politicians who need not be named (Too many) have no ethical restraints, and so cheating, lying, and blatant stealing is no problem. He will maintain his power seat, for a while, until some generals decide his sell by date has expired.... Then.... Open windows exist in Turkey too.... Re: Will Erdogan Win?
Going to be a run-off.
OSCE points out that media channels gave Erdogan 38 hours of coverage to the run up of the election, compared to 38 minutes, for the opposition. Being in power for 20 years gets you friends in the right places.Comment

Re: Will Erdogan Win?
Erdogan won and gracious as expected;
He ridiculed his challenger for his loss, saying "bye bye bye, Kemal," as supporters booed.
The Turkish president won reelection Sunday, extending his increasingly authoritarian rule into a third decade as the country reels from high inflation and the aftermath of an earthquake that leveled entire cities.

Re: Will Erdogan Win?
Cases like Erdogan make me question the whole idea of expats voting. One won't live through consequences of your vote, one has only faint idea of what consequences of previous elections were. No man should be ever stripped of citizenship against their will, but there is something inherently undemocratic in affecting choices of community you are no longer active member of.WszystekPoTrochu's signature available only for premium forum users.Comment

Re: Will Erdogan Win?
90% of the Turkish people in Britain didn’t vote for Erdogan, apparently. The handful of Turks whom I know here certainly didn’t!
Mind you, I’m about as likely to know an Erdogan-voting Turk as I am to know a Marcos-voting Filipino.IMAGINES VEL NON FUERINTComment

Re: Will Erdogan Win?
Most Australians voted against him.
Most western countries did. Interesting axis, across north Africa, and straight up through France to Norway.... A pattern? Muslim populations?
