Not guilty rape, Trump will be screaming that he was totally vindicated.

      Re: Trump Guilty/Not Guilty

As I said on the generic "Trump is Toast" thread, the jury unanimously found it more likely than not that Trump followed the M.O. he described on the Access Hollywood tape.

That it is, he "just started kissing her, grabbed her by the p#ssy." And then when she wouldn't "just let the star do it", he maliciously defamed her, with intention, spite, and a bunch of other negative words.

$5M total award, which is less than one might hope considering Trump's personal wealth, but whatever.

How the media treats him now that he's a convicted sexual abuser will be interesting. Particularly as I expect they will not treat him any differently at all.

Interesting. When is a sexual assault not a rape? Was his winky not long enough to do the job?
It really is quite difficult to build an ugly wooden boat.

So feeling her up isn't rape?
A society predicated on the assumption that everyone in it should want to get rich is not well situated to become either ethical or imaginative.

What if he continues to defame her, can she sue him again? That could be fun!

                Re: Trump Guilty/Not Guilty

for whatever reason, and the jury did not give a reason, they did not unanimously conclude that he penetrated her with his penis.

You'll recall that as happens typically in mob trials, the jury was anonymous - each juror identified only by an assigned number. The judge has told the jury that while they are indeed permitted to, he strongly suggests that they do not identify themselves.

To put it another way, the jury did not unanimously conclude that Trump's penis could reach.

How long will it take a fundraiser to come up with the $5M? Days? Hours?
There is no rational, logical, or physical description of how free will could exist. It therefore makes no sense to praise or condemn anyone on the grounds they are a free willed self that made one choice but could have chosen something else. There is no evidence that such a situation is possible in our Universe. Demonstrate otherwise and I will be thrilled.

I wonder if this is the first time FOX viewers or readers will have become aware of the suit at all.

                        A quick verdict.

Not surprising that the jury found against Trump -- he put on no defense aside from a blanket denial.

Anyone who thinks he won because he was "only" found to have sexually assaulted her is missing the point

So much for people who defended Trump was saying he had never been charged with crimes or found to have assaulted women
What's not on a boat costs nothing, weighs nothing, and can't break

He still hasn't been convicted. There are still no criminal charges. I would hope that he could be prosecuted. A criminal jury, and the rules for them, are different than in a civil suit. I'd like to know, if it's an easy answer, what the basis was for the amount of damages. Might the other women who testified against him also bring their own suits, and if they were to, how might their damages be awarded if they were to prevail?

This whole case is strange from the beginning.

Can I ask - why was she there with Trump in the first place, ask him to buy her things and going into a changing room with him. Very messy stuff. Yuck on all of it.

Trump is a scumbag. Women who hang with him suggest flawed judgement.
