Be honest, do ever worry that you might get shot?

Another shooting in Texas today. I sometimes think it could happen when ever I'm near a crowd. I'm super conservative while driving, especially on the freeway. Guns, guns, guns, everywhere. My police department had to post a public service announcement asking people not to leave their guns in their cars. In Tacoma, my fair city, 10 guns a month have been stolen from cars.
My neighbor across the street has Costa Rican citizenship. I've been tempted to ask him why he stays.

Living in Canada , I can say that I feel quite safe in my neighborhood as a gun owner here has to jump through many hoops before a gun purchase . My neighbor used me as a reference and I couldn't believe the questions I was asked about him! Of course a criminal wouldn't be bothered about such as they don't follow the law...These questions were so my neighbor could buy a duckhunt shotgun!! A pistol permit is a whole different thing. Seems in your country any damn fool can have a hidden pistol.. I guess you have a right to worry...

There are hunters in the woods behind my house, so I do worry a little, but not much. I don't worry about shooters in stores and such, but I do want the schools to be secure.

No. I don't go deer hunting, and I don't live remotely close to any gang affiliated houses. Those are probably the two most likely ways to get shot in New Zealand, anything else has lightning strike odds.
Hunting gets one or two most years, either failing to correctly identify the target, or failing to make weapons safe.
Gang drive-by shootings are pretty rare, but there is a random factor there - it seems like half the time they're shooting at the wrong house or person.
Our daughter is in the US at the moment, after three months in various South American countries - I can't honestly say which one makes me more nervous as a parent . Rationally, the odds are small, but you know, all those guns.....

Yesterday, locally there was a credible threat of a student threatening to go to his school and blow everyone away. They shut thew school down.

I love Tacoma. Born there, spent a lot of time there. But unfortunately it has a reputation for crime. Not really sure it deserves it, but probably leads residents to worry.

No. Despite the current narrative about Portland falling into chaos... I don't have any concerns about getting shot. The grandbabies play in the neighborhood parks. We walk around the nearby blocks. If I'm out early enough, I sometimes worry about the occasional dodgy racoon antics (rabies?).

I volunteer at community bike shops in Harrisburg and Lebanon, PA. There have been shootings near the shop in Harrisburg. We once heard gunfire while the shop was open. We hustled everyone inside and shut the doors and called the police.

When I lived in Chapel Hill in 1996 there was a mass shooting and one of the victims died at the end my block. I had to cross a police barricade to get to my house.

I don't think I am immune from getting shot. Just have to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

i worry about getting my luxurious hair caught in the tractor pto shaft.

i worry about running myself over with the disc mower.

i worry about falling off a step ladder and getting an embolism.

i worry about getting trapped under machinery and drowning in a ditch.

i worry about getting my arm caught in the scissor lift and dying while trying to remove the appendage with a serrated utility knife blade.

i worry about impaling myself on an arrow.

i worry about falling asleep on the train tracks.

i worry about falling off a roof. which should have already happened,maybe i am already dead and this is just a dream.

i worry about sticking my hand into the path of serpentine belt.

i worry about exploding propane tanks.

i worry that my son will hurt himself doing something that should have hurt me.

i worry about being eaten by a shark.

these all occur to me between 2:07 a.m. and 2:13 a.m.
