  • Regarding Clarence Thomas…

… are you aware that the nine justices of the Supreme Court are the only federal judges NOT bound by the Code of Conduct for U.S. Judges?

    USA! USA! USA!
"They have a lot of stupid people that vote in their primaries. They really do. I'm not really supposed to say that but it's an obvious fact. But when stupid people vote, you know who they nominate? Other stupid people." -- James Carville on the plethora of low-quality GQP candidates in the mid-term election.

Clarence Thomas Didn't Disclose Decades Of Lavish Trips With Billionaire GOP Donor: Report | HuffPost Latest News

His disdain for the law is remarkable. I wonder what Scalia's reaction would have been. Impeachable? Perhaps; will it happen? Nah.

The same process as impeaching a President. The House must pass articles of impeachment and select members to prosecute the case in the Senate. Which must pass the motion for removal and censure by I believe a special majority.

That's not going to happen. No way McCarthy will convene impeachment hearings in the House, nor that Senate Republicans would vote in high enough numbers to remove.

Roberts could lean on him to resign, or issue some statement of censure. But won't.

                            That’s a painting!

Island-hopping on a superyacht. Private jet rides around the world. The undisclosed gifts to Thomas have no known precedent in the modern history of the Supreme Court. “It’s incomprehensible to me that someone would do this,” says one former judge.

For more than two decades, Thomas has accepted luxury trips virtually every year from the Dallas businessman without disclosing them, documents and interviews show. A public servant who has a salary of $285,000, he has vacationed on Crow’s superyacht around the globe. He flies on Crow’s Bombardier Global 5000 jet. He has gone with Crow to the Bohemian Grove, the exclusive California all-male retreat, and to Crow’s sprawling ranch in East Texas. And Thomas typically spends about a week every summer at Crow’s private resort in the Adirondacks.

The extent and frequency of Crow’s apparent gifts to Thomas have no known precedent in the modern history of the U.S. Supreme Court.

These trips appeared nowhere on Thomas’ financial disclosures. His failure to report the flights appears to violate a law passed after Watergate that requires justices, judges, members of Congress and federal officials to disclose most gifts, two ethics law experts said. He also should have disclosed his trips on the yacht, these experts said.
