Science may have discovered why people believe in conspiracies
An interesting read, Narcissism, psychopathy, and seeing the world in black and white terms play a bit part into it.. but so does Overconfidence.

Re: Science may have discovered why people believe in conspiracies
People are idiots. I suppose there's some comfort in knowing why. There is no rational, logical, or physical description of how free will could exist. It therefore makes no sense to praise or condemn anyone on the grounds they are a free willed self that made one choice but could have chosen something else. There is no evidence that such a situation is possible in our Universe. Demonstrate otherwise and I will be thrilled. -

Being an individualist, I do not accomplish as much as people cooperatively working together to accomplish a common goal. When it is part of a competition for economic success or political control, the successful often employ secrecy to some degree. In other words, conspiracies are very common. It is not against the social good to question activities and to be occasionally on the lookout for improper influence and control. It is a duty of being a citizen."Bai'r llywodraeth yw e." Conspiracies are dumb. People gossip, politicians leak information, it is nigh on impossible to maintain secrecy. It really is quite difficult to build an ugly wooden boat.

The story misstates the nature of the dark triad.
