Re: What Are You Doing for T-Day?

Got home from work about an hour ago so still sorting my day. This one of my least disliked Hallmark Holidays (Xmas tops the list, has for years) but we'll be going to see some friends (a semi-retired caterer Stephanie can put out a really good spread) for dinner. Our contribution is my usual Mama Stamberg's Cranberry Relish ( https://www.npr.org/2006/11/23/41760...-relish-recipe ) and Shari has decided to make Lil' Smokies in Crescent Roll Blankets. Not sure what Richard Warren, my Mayflower ancestor would make of this, but here we are.

Probably continue pecking away at my current boatshop remodel. Need to open up some room before bringing Marianita home next month for a serious going-over. Stupid holiday limits my ability to run to the hardware store so I'm hoping to not run short of something critical.
    Steve

If you would have a good boat, be a good guy when you build her - honest, careful, patient, strong.

Re: What Are You Doing for T-Day?

My Wife and Her daughter and the two grandkids, now sixteen and eleven, are off this morning to participate in an annual T-day tradition in Sacramento. The Run to Feed the Hungry. Entry fees and the sales of T-shirts and other fun stuff pay for meals that are rounded up and distributed by local foodbanks and a team of volunteers. The run has been held every year, but the pandemic, for thirty years, and participation has grown to over thirty thousand entrants. It's not about a race and most people just walk, though there are some serious runners in the event. Meanwhile, I get to stay home and make the punkin pie, baking this very moment.

I will tell you what I am NOT doing: going to my former mother in laws to deal with her idiot husband and his loutish sons and thuggish grandsons...

i'm kidding but that would take me all the way back to the deep midwest thanksgivings of my childhood.

                            It was a month ago.

                            Now we're varnishing snowshoes.
