Yes! And Lee is correct, and that truth is critical. Those instructions should have included a reminder of the consequences the judge is empowered to impose, and the warning that she's done talking... next step is (whatever she decides... but actual consequences). He's a very slow learner who's lived in his own delusional bubble for a long time. It WILL take more than words to pop that bubble now.
Exactly. Those words from the judge were not forthcoming.

Re: Alex Jones' bad day
i like the bit where the plaintiff's attorneys haven requested by "several Federal agencies" to share the data dump from Jones' phone. Among which is the January 6 Committee. You would not enjoy Nietzsche, sir. He is fundamentally unsound. — P.G. Wodehouse (Carry On, Jeeves)Comment

Re: Alex Jones' bad day
4 million dollars? Compensatory. That’s a joke.
Lets hope the punitive damages are a lot more.Last edited by StevenBauer; 08-04-2022, 04:45 PM.Comment

The plaintiff's attorney appeared very happy in his press conference. He had a big smile on his face and called this, "A good start." He said when it is all said and done he expects a total judgement against Alex Jones running to nine figures."They have a lot of stupid people that vote in their primaries. They really do. I'm not really supposed to say that but it's an obvious fact. But when stupid people vote, you know who they nominate? Other stupid people." -- James Carville on the plethora of low-quality GQP candidates in the mid-term election.Comment

If it's that blatant could it open his lawyers to sanctions by the law authorities, or his professional association? Not to mention contempt proceedings against them for wasting the court's time.Comment

I’d like to see Jones do some real time for perjury. Make an example of him for all the other MAGA liars out there.Comment

2 hours ago:
The jurors have left the courtroom to decide on the amount of punitive damages, if any, that Jones must pay Lewis and Heslin for defaming them with his Infowars broadcasts denying the truth of the shooting and implying on his show that Heslin was lying when he spoke publicly about cradling his son’s body after the shooting. The jury is now deliberating. Awaiting their verdictComment

Re: Alex Jones' bad day
They've come back. About $45M in punitive damage, subject to whatever restrictions Texas law may put on it.
Clearly the jury was aware that this was but the first of 3 such cases by different groups of the parents, and they were considering the resources which should be left for them to tap.If I use the word "God," I sure don't mean an old man in the sky who just loves the occasional goat sacrifice. - Anne Lamott
