OK - you win the award for most disgusting.

Tripe alone is bad enough, but adding blood sausage to it? Blecch.

Being an unfamiliar item, I had to 'look it up' - I'm afraid I would pass on that , if offered - - and I really like to eat new (to me) foods

I can honestly say that there's nothing that I ate as a main course, as a child, that I would even agree to eat now.

... and my brother and I, just yesterday, commented to his son about the line we were fed if we ever left food on the plate... "the starving Biafrans would love that".

There's one meal that my wife served up to me that I won't eat again. Afterbirth (cow) soup. Not so much the taste, but the texture. I've got a photo... but I will spare you

My Mum was a terrific cook and had a big vege garden. Dad killed most of our meat. The meals were mostly standard farm fare, designed to fill a belly and keep a man working hard. Fancy foods from across the world were only just becoming available in small quantities. That said, I don't recall a meal I didn't like. Mum left her recipe books- mostly hand written over many years- to the eldest of my two sisters. My sister is a fussy eater and only kept the recipes that she liked, so some of my favourites went in the bin. One was a baked tuna pie with a biscuit base. It was delicious and I've never seen anything like it since and have no idea where my mother got hold of the recipe. My wife is a fantastic cook- very inventive and clever. I'm just glad that she doesn't cook many traditional recipes from her native Latvia JayInOz

Hahaha! I was fishing off a long jetty at a place called Soldiers Point. It was during school holidays and there were parents and kids all along the jetty. I'd been out at low tide and could make out a narrow, deeper channel about half way out so I made a note of the spot and went out at high tide when everybody was fishing. A few casts with a small fillet of fish and a big flathead came up from the depths and nailed the bait just under the surface, to a chorus of gasps and oohs and aahs from the surrounding fisher people. I was immediately surrounded by a bunch of kids who insisted that it was too big to lift out- I would have to walk the fish back to the beach. So a whole bunch of us slowly made out way back to where it was agreed that it was safe to land the fish. When we got back to "my" fishing spot, it looked like the photo above. Everybody with a rod had moved in A night or two later I had my rod ripped out from between the planks and taken from the same place- guessing either a big ray or big Mulloway (jewfish). JayInOz
