For donald it was probably all seen as a deal that could be made as long as he profited. For the standing of America and the worth of it's agreements and treaties it would probably be better if somehow don was not around to be prosecuted………..

Something I found interesting- trumps valet Walt Nauta is facing many of the same charges. He's looking at a seriously long jail sentence if found guilty. He has no big money friends or senators or judges in his pocket and no question of precedent- if found guilty he goin down hard. They can't take him down hard and then go easy on his boss the orange s### stain, who, to quote Rachel Maddow, is facing decades and decades and decades in prison. JayInOz

Waltine Nauta was a US Navy navvie assigned to the "White House food service command". He was active duty until September 30, 2021 when he retired from the Navy with the rank of senior chief petty officer (2nd highest enlisted rank in the Navy).

His official title was "senior chief culinary specialist" (yes, he was a career Navy cook), but the President may use the military assigned to the White House as he sees fit and he tapped him as his valet/batman (Somebody has to bring TFG his Diet Cokes and burned steaks.

After he left the Navy, Trump gave him a full-time gig as his valet at $135,000 per year. Naturally enough given that this is TFG we're talking about, we got paid by virtue of being "put on the payroll of Save America, a Trump political action committee", according to the Washington Post.

I think he's in a heap o'trouble.

I expect (hope) that those who get their information from FOX and such will, on the jury, find out they've been lied to. The evidence they will see will be Trump's own words, among other things.

I find it very strange that the party of LAW AND ORDER doesn't like it when their guy is indicted. Hypocrisy at its highest.
