At my mom’s house in CA: mopped the kitchen and dining room floors, pulled sheets off mom’s and another bed, washed sheets and remade beds. Then, just finished cutting and planing down wood threshold on double doors so it slopes to the outside rather than the inside. Now relaxing in my truck (hiding if you will) stretched out in passenger seat typing this, looking through windshield at gray skies and Gravenstein trees with thumb size apples, a rooster crowing in the distance. At 5 I’ll pour her some wine and get a cider for myself. Giants game at 5:40 which my mom will watch while I make dinner.

Re: What have you achomlished today?
Doing the home stretch on commissioning work (nothing really big) on the Albin-25, while also progressing on restoring my very old and very abused (but CHEAP) fiberglass Dolphin Canoe Company canoe. Both sides had badly done gunwale and topside patches amidship. I've sawed out the offending patches and am progressing on properly done repairs. Also finished carving a life-size Catbird. Trying to keep busy enough to keep from dwelling on how much I miss my dear wife Gale who passed in February.Comment

Re: What have you achomlished today?
Started by making mochas, then varnished some interior window trim, pulled clamps and peeled tape from the back panel of a gaming table I'm helping make, helped my lady move a 4' galvy planter to its final location and weedwhacked/cut blackberries/moved old branches from the end of our deck. Then went to the local PUD to arrange moving our service entrance.

I wore my new mesh motorcycle coat and took the long route to the boat. I added water to the batteries changed an alternator belt sanded down the port side rails and varnish them and started work on the starboard rails.. Tonight I pick my daughter up around midnight from a short trip she made to New Orleans. Tomorrow morning my wife has an early doctor's appointment and I am the chauffeur.
I also marveled at a very very low tideLast edited by Bobcat; 06-07-2023, 10:17 PM.What's not on a boat costs nothing, weighs nothing, and can't breakComment

Delivered my Meals on Wheels route in the morning.
Met with the carpenter about the delivery date for the dumpster. Met some of his crew who will wreak destruction upon my halls and stairwell.
Performed a few stints of my daily lap task for the new cat.
Pulled all the image files pertaining to Tony Barrand, the Marlboro Morris, the Chaplain Valley Folk Festival and Pete Sutherland off the DVDs upon which they're archived. Miraculously, the total collection was exactly the size of a DVD, so burned it. Now I must find all the film, since I committed to giving it all to the Vermont Folklfe Center last week. I am so ready to not store that stuff any longer.
