I got the first one free with Skyrim and never played it, but I heard it was OK.

What are you doing about it?

I got no beef with video games.

The graphic and gratuitous violence associated with the “shooter” genre simply makes me ill, now.

I’m sad all that creativity goes into depicting grotesque murder.

      Peace,
      Mario Kart!

The original cersion gameplay is beautiful with very interesting dialog and even political insight. The cinema aspect of new game is spectacular. The western open boundaries is the best in westerns - like a Ford film, spaghetti westerns and Sam Peckenpah (wild bunch).

Check out the youtube videos of old and new game. You’ll be intrigued and even may geek out. Women folk in the house are going to get annoyed. Perfect for the man cave.

i see that too. Fact is that intense violent gameplay and best in creativity are hand in hand. This video game allows one to explore one’s character neutrality. A player can play the entire game according to thier own moral code.

mario cart is no character. A driver on a cartoon. Online play on both games - one experiences how people really treat each other in the anonymous online matrix. Some are obscene, base, cruel while others are helpful and friendly. Much mimicking life.

Dude. Don’t ever, even jokingly, say “women folk” around here. You will get your butt kicked. No, I am not joking. My daughter does not play. Seriously.

Also, my son’s gaming team includes three girls. Yes, gaming team.
Those girls will stomp anyone at any game, and they are the geeks who make run throughs...

            Peace,
            Robert

              Okay.

Oddworld. That game was cool. Took Quad one whole day to beat.

Some violence, sure, but not a shooter in any sense. Creative? Well, moreso than a tired old “western” meme.

              Peace,
              Robert

do your girls play first person shooter games and story play character where violence, horror and wickedness are part of the game? Although your “girl folk” may play - you know that those games are played in the majority by males. Sure - In my own house, I have seen/see girls hanging with boys playing those games but playing - not so much.

                  Ted,

They are girls, or women. And, yes. Assassin’s Creed is one they play. HALO, COD, Fortnight, you name it. These are professional gamers, in that they get paid and compete.

                  Lots of girls are gamers.

                  Peace,
                  Robert

P.S. My daughter does not like video games. She’s like me. They are okay, but real life is better.

Some folks are men and some are women, some are old and stay at home. I don't see what is so wrong about saying that.

Why not create games with a lot of creativity in them.

You obviously haven’t played red dead redemption. It is no longer pong. If you thought it was you are not paying attention. The creativity a player goes through with their own character development is astounding.
these games are the frontier in the virtual world. To not look into this entertainment and search for the gems is a miss by you. As much as you dislike the games - the story telling is quite refined. It is like a great movie and sound track. These games are the new virtual reality to times and places quickly disappearing from our own physical world.

We can all relate to Robs dislike for violence. To be turned off due to some of the content misses so much of what the future could be.

GTA has replaced the jukebox and pin-ball machine?
