Absurd?

Is it just me or it completely absurd one cannot attach pictures on this forum?
It leaves me with no way to show images which are worth a thousand (or more) words...
I'm going sailing.

A set up to post photos directly from your personal files on your computer would be superior.

You want the forum to have access to your hard drive? Really?

Bandwidth is not free. If this forum started hosting pictures, it would likely need to find a new revenue stream, either charging for use, or putting outside adverts on each page. There are plenty of free image hosting websites out there that can be used with a modest amount of googling. The status quo is fine.

I use a site called imgur. [ugh. it's supposed to be pronounced as imager. spit.] but it does a decent job of hosting images. There are photo edit functions, like cropping, and it will do a very good job of re-sizing a photo on the fly during import. The main page consists of image from users from all over, some are interesting, and you can share yours or not.

Agreed WBF procedure for posting images takes a little getting used to, but it's not that bad after you use it a bit.



The traditional eagle's head on the bow of my friendship sloop. Gonna need some paint. I wonder if it would gauche to recarve it a little, to be maybe a little less blocky, and then repaint it or leave it bright. The new bowsprit rests atop.

One of the absurd things about image posting is the stupid dialogue that asks if you want to post from local or remote source. I've never posted from a local source, has anybody?

Its off the shelf software, one size fits all. It is most likely also used by businesses that do use a local source.
