My dad knew his way around bulls some and really knew his way around horses. Grandpa homesteaded near the Saskatchewan Manitoba border and ran a fairly big cattle operation. I've still got my dad's roping saddle although its just a conversation piece for me I grew up differently and suck at horses.

Anyways what my old man really excelled at was drinking! There's a famous story in my home town where the old man was liquored up with a couple pals in the MacDonald hotel. The rodeo happened to be in town and somehow dad bet one guy a hundred bucks (we're talking early 60s here probably) he could ride a bull. Dad would have been wearing a shirt and a tie from his job selling cars at the time. I guess the bet created some excitement and more bets came in. Anyways away they all went to the rodeo grounds, one of dad's buddy's holding a hat full of cash. Somehow they talked or bribed their way into gaining use of a bull at the arena and the old man rode the damn bull! Even had a graceful exit I'm told. Back to the hotel they went for a lot more drinkin!

G'day all. I'm getting nervous, every time the phone rings its another heart attack or stroke, or in 2 cases brain tumours. I guess I've reached the 'funeral age'. My dad at 92 decided he wouldn't make another friend over 50 for much the same reasons.

Take care out there you mob.

We need a little wind going on here in Okieland, the air quality is not good, they claim it is from the wildfires and a little wind would help clear it up. We have had two or three days of perfect calm, it never does this in my part of the state. It sure has my lungs screwed up. You would think I was a three pack a day smoker the way I am coughing and hacking.

                  Morning All,

Yes, we keep losing them. I was just yesterday practicing a tribute song for a longtime stalwart of our boating group. I sing it at one of our messabouts to note the anniversary of his passing. We haven't heard from Kevin for a while, and I can only suspect he has also passed. Glen has gone. Tulsy's prognosis is not good. Most of my friends are still doing well, but not all. And my h.s. class FB page is a steady dirge lately. I think it's convinced me to attend our 55th reunion (first I've attended since the 10th), because it might be the last time I see some the ones I care about.

Meanwhile, it's 57F here and rainy. Rainy all day, they say. I didn't see that forecast, and it sort of buggers up my plans for the day. I'll have to adjust. Well... the plants will appeciate it. But soon it'll be time to wake up the bandicoots and get them to school.

Hope everyone has a great day!
