Yeah, I would have been pretty nervous in those conditions. And Wow, a thousand boats, most of them traditional and/or wooden at a festival. France looks like small wooden boat heaven! Roger is the best channel on youtube imho.Comment

I've followed his videos for some time. Unburdened by excessive narrative, they serve as a meditation, of a kind. There is space for the viewer to make up one's own mind about things. They impart the peaceful quietude of an evolved, thoroughly-civilized man.
Indeed, the videos leave one more curious about the man himself than so much his adventures.Comment

It was certainly a more edgy video. Any small sailboating in shared waters is going to fraught with those experiences.
THough it was cool to see all those boats and teh large small boat community, the crowds would make me tense and are generally what I go boating to avoid (masses of people)
Where I am I avoid the weekends as it is giant powerboat/jetski/loud party boat hell. 90% of the power boaters I encounter have no understanding of the effect of their wakes on smaller boats and or simply don't care, in their desire to get somewhere faster and louder than ever.
I hope he's still enjoying himself despite that stuff.
He had some pretty exciting sailing conditions too.Comment
