Where can I camp near Mystic during the wooden boat show?

I'm about to set off from the west coast of canada to drive to the wooden boat show. Will be dawdling along in a 30 year old westfalia with my rowboat on top, and want to catch the show when I'm out east. When I go to the Port Townsend show, I usually camp at the fairgrounds, basically a large field, with washrooms, never fills up. Is there any like facility near Mystic? I'm pretty self-contained, don't need hookups, just a quiet campground. After the show heading back into Canada to see the east coast provinces and home mid to end of August.

For starters there is Pachaug state forest about 20 min north of Mystic that permits camping (looks like $27 per night). I'll do some more looking.

If you you are coming down through Maine there's a nice place to camp in Freeport at Recompense Shores Campground: http://freeportcamping.com

We stayed at the Seaport RV Resort and Campground the years i brought a boat to the show. it was nice. better call ahead and make a reservation... it's about a 5 munite drive from the show.

Pachaug State Park is first come, first serve camping with no reservations. Black Rock State Park does accept reservations and is located near Watertown, CT.

Just do a search for Black Rock State Park, CT. Yes on tent sites, RV sites and cabins too. Check on shared space. Don't know on that one.

Also about 35 minutes east in Charlestown R.I. is Burlingame State Park. They have 700 campsites.
