  • Can anyone ID this boat?

    Hi All,

I have been asked by a colleague if I can help him figure out what to do with the boat in the accompanying images which was restored by a now deceased relation of his. He is not knowledgeable about wooden boats whatsoever and the pictures are the only reference I have. Makes me think of a Robb White sport boat although the construction is all wrong and lines are a little clunky, but I'm confident somebody on here can clue us in, thanks in advance!

Those long swoopy knees at the transom remind me of a Penn Yan Swift. Myabe somebody took the deck off?

My guess would be a Penn Yan Cartop model as shown below. It should have a model code stamped on the inside stem and middle transom brace. See https://woodencanoemuseum.org/builde...n-boat-company for more details,

Penn Yan Car Topper immediately came to my mind also.
        Nice looking boat.
I was born on a wooden boat that I built myself.
