I am just trying to help a friend find a home for his boat.
I haven't seen it, can't confirm any details about it, but apparently is was one of the Dunkirk small boats.
The only details I have are from an email are: "32ft carvel planked motor sailer built in 1939 in england. we are the 4th owner of 45yrs. proven dunkirk boat with impressive history."
He was going to get me some details, like some magazine clippings, but he hasn't yet (that was in 2018). Or maybe he showed them to me and took them back, not sure.
The boat is on the hard in Ladysmith, I believe, and probably needs a lot of lovin'.
He has tried to donate the boat to various Maritime museums, but has had no takers. He's hoping to find someone to take on the restoration, not gut it and part it out.
Sorry, I have no pics or nuttin'. All I can do is forward along his contact info - to view you'd have to make arrangements with him.
If anyone is interested, feel free to PM me.
Cheers,
sbcwylie
