Good eye Autonomous, we were just up stream from Stevenson. Tucked in on shore near these really cool rock islands. Top right of the zoomed out picture.

Jack, well done spotting my Honda 2.3.

What you see on Luna and Zephyr is their Sawyer Oars. Dropping the bow anchor and backing down on the oars is very effective.

At one point there was a dual-sport motorcycle rally based out of Stevenson, lots of good riding in that part of both states. The railroad running through town did not make for restful sleeping.

When I had my Deer Isle Koster using one oar SUP-style was the best way to maneuver in tight quarters. As long as the boat is reasonably stable (like the SCAMP) it can be a great way to get around and using a few kayak paddling techniques you can move the boat sideways into some pretty tight dock space.

The first post covid SCAMP Camp group build is scheduled for July 14-23, 2023 in Michigan. The class is one place shy of full if anyone is interested in the last open spot. Howard Rice will instruct the build. Accommodations are included and on site.

This is an opportunity too build a very capable micro mini cruiser, which now has hull numbers world wide in excess of 700.

        Join the fun.

Where in Michigan is that Scamp camp going to be held?
Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.

Without friends none of this is possible.

We're in the very early stages of planning a SCAMP camp in Hobart, Tasmania, in conjunction with the next Australian Wooden Boat Festival in Feb '25, to be run by the Wooden Boat Centre there.
Its early days yet but I'm sure expressions of interest would be welcomed.

To ensure the traditional craft of wooden boatbuilding endures and remains a relevant part of contemporary maritime culture. We are a member based, community led, not for profit that welcomes students and visitors to our workshop in Franklin, Tasmania.

I hope to be there. Right now advising the organizers on how the SCAMP Camp group builds work.
