Installing the rubrails on my 17' Simmons Sea Skiff. Trying to determine what is the best way to deal with the angles involved. I think standard practice would be to raise the rubrail a little above the side deck and then plane the rail top to match the side deck angle. But I'm wondering if there's any precedent for jut leaving the rub rail angles intact and perpendicular to the sheer plank face? As I have the rail in place like this now for fitting, it doesn't look too bad to me, but don't want get my wooden boat builder credentials revoked! :P
