Clinker fishing boat new build in the UK
I don’t think this has been previously posted and if it has, apologies. It’s interesting, though there is not much detail. Very low profile project, with virtually no media programme. I’ve no idea how it is funded. But anyway, take a look.

Same sort of boats as used along the coast at Hastings.
It really is quite difficult to build an ugly wooden boat.

Lovely work! Having owned a beach boat its good to see a new one taking shape. Joggled frames in the bottom, steamed timbers above. Mine Billows, was built in 1938 By Harry Phillips of Rye as a sailing tripper boat, unusually she was planked in fine grained spruce or archangel white pine. Probably planked in that as they had just had an order from the Admiralty for 10,000 whaler sweeps & had a lot of it laying about!
Beautiful boat & sailed like a witchComment

Re: Clinker fishing boat new build in the UK
Phillips of Rye had a long history with Sussex beach boats. They said they quit building not because of fibreglass, but to the lack of quality elm they used in planking.
I can see by the forefoot he has followed the later engine boats.
Worth the trip to go see on my next visit to the UK. Thanks for posting, this really has slipped under the radar.Comment

It seems all the photos that have been saved via "Bing", are too many charachters to post.Comment
