Insuring boat under construction?
I will trailer a partially complete Wittholz 15 from Minnesota to Florida for completion, and my auto insurance company (State Farm) says they will not insure it without its completion and "inspection by a marine insurance specialist." 'Any suggestions, and has anyone else insured a partially complete boat being trailered?Tags: None -
Re: Insuring boat under construction?
Are you looking for liability coverage --- the boat comes off the trailer and injures someone or damages property--- or insurance for damage to the boat as it is being transported? What's not on a boat costs nothing, weighs nothing, and can't break -
Re: Insuring boat under construction?
You should be able to find someone who can provide inland marine/scheduled personal property insurance. You might be able to get State Farm to provide you a rate that way. You're not insuring it as a functional watercraft, you're insuring it as an elaborate amalgamation of stuff. If you have materials cost that would help.Comment
