Re: Duck Trap Wherry
I delivered Lady Grace to her new home on Wednesday between heavy rain the days before and after. Hopefully there will be a break in the weather in the next few days and we can do an official launch. She will also be taking part in a sail past for the commodore of our local sailing club on May 13th. Fingers crossed for good weather.

Re: Duck Trap Wherry
During our honeymoon trip down the Maine coast in 1975 we stopped at Camden harbor to look over the assembled fleet of boats. I'd lived there during my late teens and wanted to show my new wife the wood boats of which there was quite a collection then. Pulled up on the shore was Walt Simmons first Lincolnville Wherry. We'd stopped at his shop to get one of his bronze anchors and he told us where the boat was. I have a photo somewhere and if I find it I'll post. For the most part experience is making the same mistakes over and over again, only with greater confidence.Comment

Re: Duck Trap Wherry
This morning, with sunshine, no wind and a flat sea, I launched Lady Grace. She handles beautifully and I know I'm going to enjoy using her. Here's a picture just back off the water.

Nicely done! Betting you'll have few that will see anything but a beautiful boat. Enjoy!

Re: Duck Trap Wherry
Funny--looking at your wherry reminds that, when my Alaska got to "bare hull" stage, I thought very seriously about leaving the small foredeck and aft deck off--the lines of an open boat with no decks are so beautiful. It looked a lot like your boat like that. I really like the look of your boat, for sure.
