      The forecast for Tuesday is:
      Tuesday 15 September

Summary Min 15Max 24Late shower or two.Possible rainfall: 0 to 1 mmChance of any rain: 50% Mostly sunny day. Medium (50%) chance of showers later in the day. Winds north to northwesterly 20 to 25 km/h increasing to 25 to 30 km/h during the day.

      Whereas Sunday is:
      Sunday 13 September

Summary Min 14Max 22Mostly sunny.Possible rainfall: 0 mmChance of any rain: 5% Mostly sunny. Light winds becoming easterly 15 to 20 km/h during the afternoon then becoming light during the evening.

I think Tuesday is the better option for a sail and it means I can cruise North for an hour so and look at some different coastline.

I am seriously considering bringing Vamp home for a spell in the driveway. The work would get done at double the speed and a quarter of the frustration, I reckon.
Hmm, not over-engineered. Props could be beefed up but only for loading and off-loading, if you're using a tilt tray. Put the middle cross-piece higher off the ground so that it doesn't jam on the tilt tray. Use black steel for all bolts as they're dirt cheap. Use a bit of heavy angle iron cut into small pieces for the corner brackets instead of having them made, as this costs a bit. I guess it cost about $600 all up? for the cradle. Steel, welding of plates for the props, nuts and bolts, and corner brackets. I can give you all the specs if you need them but not until Saturday pm or later.

You will not regret bringing the boat home. You'll do a better job, a much more enjoyable job, it'll take longer because you'll do more and be fussier - because you can, and you'll achieve a great boat. I respect the `get it done and go sailing' philosophy but, if you're like me, you'll be thinking about all that needs to be done to it every time you go sailing, and be wishing you could just get into it and get it done.

I agree with that, replacing sidedecks from a floating dock with a limited time frame is a poor second to having the boat in your yard. My repair job would have been so much better if I'd had more time and cover. The upside is I got some great docking practice which including reversing into the dock.

Indeed. And I think this is more than just a patch up job, some significant work is needed. Definitely bring her home if you can.

My idea of hell and frustration is working on a boat 25 km away in a boatyard away from my workshop facilities !

              A great idea Matt !

just misplaced my bag containing all my vital items, phone, passport

I don't know a Ken and the only contact I ever had with the Bendigo Yacht Club was in regard to class records for my Australian Sailfish.

My 49th year skiing and the season has been good in todays terms. These temperatures with reasonable moisture should have given the resorts 12ft of snow, but the best was about 2 meters as far as I can tell. But being so cold what was there was good.
