Get ready for a Pardon Party!
Just unbelievable. Words nearly fail me, with this one.
“The White House has assembled the paperwork to pardon dozens of people, two sources with knowledge of the developments tell CNN, signaling that President Trump is poised to exert his constitutional power and intervene, in some instances, where he believes the Justice Department has overstepped.”
“The administration has prepared the pardoning paperwork for at least 30 people.”"Reason and facts are sacrificed to opinion and myth. Demonstrable falsehoods are circulated and recycled as fact. Narrow minded opinion refuses to be subjected to thought and analysis. Too many now subject events to a prefabricated set of interpretations, usually provided by a biased media source. The myth is more comfortable than the often difficult search for truth."

Re: Get ready for a Pardon Party!
I don't think ANY 'President' has pardoned the criminal gang he committed treason to install in positions of power.
Name a couple dozen, if you will.Rattling the teacups.Comment

Re: Get ready for a Pardon Party!
Past presidents have used their power very selectively, and rarely if ever to pardon associates, friends ,and members of their own administration. Using the power to pardon for political purposes or to protect your associates from the law is simply wrong. Of course, we don't know who those 30 people are, or even if they exist.Last edited by Keith Wilson; 06-06-2018, 01:00 PM."For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations,

Re: Get ready for a Pardon Party!
All previous presidents mainly pardoned people who were victims of gross miscarriages of justice. There's a huge vetting and investigative process before a pardon request gets to the president's desk. Sometimes a large group of pardons is a political act, an effort at healing as when Andrew Johnson pardoning most citizens of the Confederacy (leaders had to seek individual pardons) and when Jimmy Carter pardoned draft dodgers. Some pardons just seem odd, like Nixon taking a last vindictive swipe at the Kennedy's by pardoning Jimmy Hoffa. And most presidents have also made political pardons, as Reagan pardoning George Steinbrenner or Clinton pardoning Marc Rich.
If you google something like 'controversial presidential pardons' you get sites like https://www.cheatsheet.com/culture/c...tml/?a=viewall . It is interesting to see differences and trends in the type of pardon and the party of the president.Comment

The best thing about this (so far) is that Martha Stewart can finally pack a heater again.Comment
